Position: Communication Officer (911 Dispatcher)
911, where is your emergency? For many, these are the first words one hears after witnessing or being a victim of a tragic or violent situation. Wouldn’t you want to be the one on the other end to help with the situation? Well maybe you can.
Currently this position performs Emergency 9-1-1 and administrative non-emergency dispatching to public safety units in the field and reports of routine and emergency events to countywide law enforcement, emergency medical, and fire services. Pay Range $12.82/hr. – $17.67/hr.
Applicants must meet the following criteria: Shall be at least 18 years of age, possess a High School diploma or acceptable equivalent, no criminal record and be of good moral character. The successful applicant must pass a post-offer typing & assessment testing along with a hearing test and a background check. Once hired, the employee must live within 45 minutes of the Cowley County Courthouse.
